Hi! My name is Priscilla, the owner and baker behind Stacks on Stacks Cookies. I’ve been baking for well over 15 years, ever since I was 11 years old, and I’ve had a creative mind for as long as I can remember. I grew up in the kitchen with my mom, helping her cook for our small family and watching her make cultural desserts like flan and capirotada, a traditional Mexican bread pudding. Even though she wasn’t much of a baker herself and mostly stuck to boxed cakes, she still inspired me to learn more in the kitchen.
As for my creative side, I have my dad to thank for that. My mom encouraged it, but my dad was my role model. As a child, I would run up to him and ask him to draw all the silly things I loved. One of my earliest memories is me bringing him my toy white horse along with a pencil and paper, asking him to draw it for me. Watching him draw in awe and seeing the final piece felt mind-blowing at the time. I always excelled in my art classes, and I even had one of my high school paintings featured in the California State University, Northridge art gallery a moment in time.

Even though I enjoyed both cooking and baking, I always found myself leaning more towards baking. It can be a little unforgiving, which is why people say it’s a science, and that’s honestly what draws me to it. The technical side of baking can be very precise, and creating something where presentation matters just as much as taste is so fun to me. I’ve always loved science in general, which shows in some of my favorite shows like Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Dr. Stone, and House. I even earned my bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry and spent time working as a Quality Control Chemist. While I did enjoy working in a lab, it never felt as fulfilling as baking.
There’s something really special about creating treats that make people happy, whether it’s because they taste amazing or because they look like little pieces of art. That feeling is what inspired me to start Stacks on Stacks Cookies. I hope to bring that same joy to you!
